Emmet is quite honored
to be invited to join the Biomimicry Guild's Speakers Bureau.
This spelaing bureau is the first of its kind in the field of
Biomimicry, an emerging science that uses nature as a template
to solve the problems of our modern world. The Biomimicry Guild
is the only innovation company in the world to use a deep knowledge
of biological adaptations to help designers, engineers, architects,
and business leaders solve design and engineering challenges sustainably.
Visit the
Biomimicry Guild's
website.

His presentations include "Business
as Ecosystem: Redefining the Life of a Business" A

Emmet also lectures on the fascinating
field of Cultural Entomology. This discipline explores
the parallels and connections between humans and insects. In his
lecture series called, "Why Should We Care About Insects?",
Emmet delineates the cultural/historical, economic, physical,
sexual, social and metaphysical/spiritual aspects of our relationship
with insects.

Consider if you will that insects
represent the greatest number of animals on the planet, with the
most species and the most biomass. Our understanding and compassion
for them as evolutionary peers will have to grow substantially
as our environment and economics change in the years to come.
Emmet has created several powerpoint
movies that give a basic introduction to Cultural Entomology.
In particular, you can learn about a pivotal conservaton effort
taking place in the Yucatan region of Mexico involving Mellipona
beecheii, as known as the Mayan Stingless Honeybee. Emmet
had a first-hand experience the culture and learned of the 3,000
year co-existence between this bee and the ancient Mayans, and
what it means to the modern Mayan way of life.
